About
I have worked in Learning and Development for more than 9 years. I have worked as a consultant in South Africa, other parts of Africa and the United Kingdom for over 6 years and headed up a Learning and Development in Virgin Active South Africa since February 2006.
As a consultant, I have worked with a number of organisations including Shell, Chevron (Caltex), 20Twenty, ABSA, Old Mutual and Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) overseeing, designing and managing learning and development projects. In addition, I have facilitated the development of Strategic Plans for community based organisations and blue chip companies, such as Amalgamated Beverage Industries (Subsidiary of SABMiller) and developed performance management systems for organisations such as DivFood (Part of Nampak). My work in Induction and On-boarding for new employees has formed part of my Masters degree, focusing on the development of learning skills and business knowledge to cope with the changing workplace.
I have a passion for learning and assisting others with their learning. My goal with this blog is to express what really works in Learning in the workplace, not purely from a theoretical perspective or practical operational perspective; but rather what helps the staff member, the Learner learn more about their role, their development and themselves. This allows real talent to emerge. This changes the world.
